Tampa.dev Overview
Tampa.dev is the community platform for Tampa Bay's tech community. It brings together local tech groups, events, and people into a single place where you can discover what's happening, connect with other developers, and track your involvement.
Getting Started
- Sign up — Create an account to unlock your profile, favorites, and badges.
- Explore groups — Browse the Groups directory to find meetups, communities, and organizations that match your interests.
- Attend events — Check the Events page or the Calendar for upcoming meetups, workshops, and socials across the Tampa Bay area.
- Earn badges — Participate in events and community activities to earn badges and climb the leaderboard.
- Build your portfolio — Add portfolio items to your profile to showcase your work to the community.
Key Features
Events Aggregation
Tampa.dev automatically syncs events from platforms like Meetup, Eventbrite, and Luma so you can see everything happening in one place. You can also view events on a map to find meetups near you.
Groups
Groups represent local tech communities, meetups, and organizations. Each group has its own page with upcoming events, member lists, and a group leaderboard. You can favorite groups to keep track of the ones you care about most.
Badges & XP
Earn badges by attending events, checking in, and participating in community activities. Each badge awards XP points, and your total XP determines your rank on the leaderboard. Badges come in different rarity tiers from Common to Legendary.
Leaderboards
See how you stack up against other community members on the platform-wide leaderboard, or check out group-specific leaderboards to see who's most active in a particular community.
Your Profile
Your profile is your home on Tampa.dev. Add a bio, social links, hero image, and theme color to make it your own. Other community members can view your public profile to see your badges, groups, and portfolio items.
